Community Group Prompts and Discussion Questions

Helping one another love Jesus, His people, and His world

Loving Jesus

1.    When was the last time you were genuinely aware of your sinfulness in the light of Christ’s goodness and glory?

2.    What would “leaving behind my right to call my life my own” look like this month—not in theory but in practice?

Loving His People

3.    What are you holding onto that competes with full-hearted discipleship—comfort, control, career, money, reputation, schedule? Craig encouraged us with the reminder that “You are not only called to leave behind your way for his way but do so in community.” How do our commonalities with the above help you let go of what competes for your heart?

Loving His World

4.    “To follow is to fish” because “Jesus seeks sinners. He doesn’t just forgive sinners but recruits them to gain other sinners.” Who are the “lost fish” in the waters around you right now—neighbors, coworkers, family—whom Jesus may be calling you to love and pursue?
